Realise charity has appointed three new board members in the run up to its 10th anniversary to support its re-launch and focus on new priorities for the future.
Philippa Holland has been appointed as Chair to lead the charity into its 10th year as it aims to increase the impact it has in the community. Philippa will be supported by new Patron, Tina Holdcroft, and new Board Member, Wendy Dean.
Philippa Holland was formerly Chair of Aspire Housing from 2011 until this year, when she made the move across to the charity board. Philippa retired from the Senior Civil Service in 2009, having spent much of her career based in the West Midlands, where she had particular responsibilities for housing, regeneration, local government and wider public sector performance. She was awarded an OBE in 2006.
Philippa said: “I’m delighted to be taking up the position of Chair at Realise charity during this most exciting year; we’re funding new programmes, more projects than ever before, to help people in our communities get well and stay well, live independently for longer, and help people into training and sustainable employment.
Philippa continues, “At a time when there is little funding for public services we’re making a stand to deliver more back to our region and help people in our communities during their time of need.”
Tina Holdcroft has stepped down from her former role as Chair following the end of its term, and will continue her admirable work with Realise as Patron of the charity. Tina, listed in The Sentinel 100 of our region’s most influential people, is also a Director of Holdcroft Heating and Gas Fitting, a family run business, based in Burslem, that has operated locally for 30 years.
Wendy Dean is a new addition to the board. Wendy is the Managing Director and founder of Strategi Solutions Group, based in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
