Running man is facing a new challenge

Realise running man Michael Beasley is branching out to cycling to boost his funds.

As if running half-marathons, marathons and ultra 30 miles races was not enough to test the mettle, now Michael is training for the Prudential Ride Surrey-London 100 miles cycle on July 30.

He saidmichael1: “I have never ridden a bike for more than about 10/15 miles in one go, but I applied for a ballot place in the Surrey-London ride and I only went and got a place.

“So as well as #runforrealise I will now be #rideforrealise.”

Michael is running the Wrexham Half Marathon on Sunday (Feb 19) and has also been allocated a place on the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon in London.

The grueling runs were originally preparing him for the Great Wall of China Marathon in May, but now he’s caught the fundraising bug, he’s pushing himself even further.

Michael said: “I am doing the all this for the Realise Foundation to help individuals and communities ‘realise’ their potential in North Staffordshire.

“I am very proud this area, its people and the opportunity to support the Realise charity.”

He has currently raised £350 and has set a modest target of £1,000.
